You are surely a glutton if your mouth gets watery as soon as you hear the word barbecue! For all the people who love outdoor sitting and love chilling and cooking, barbecue seems like a perfect idea to make your evening pleasant. A perfect way of grilling and eating delicious meat with your family, isn’t it the best way of celebrating? However, is grilling and cooking the only important aspects of barbecue? Well, we need to dig a little deeper to know more about the most beautiful style of food, Barbecues.

Apart from knowing the jaded facts that where did the word “barbecue” originated from or it’s history and background, let us get to know all the strange and intriguing facts that will add on to your knowledge and make you go all gaga over this beautiful style of grilling! The way of styling and the recipes differ from place to place, that is, not all the regions use the same sauces, well, this can be major because of the signature style followed in a particular area. All the food lovers from different parts will defend their way of preparing food. On the one hand, where meats are marinated in the sauce and then grilled, there are meats like pork that are first cooked with a dry rub and then sauced. As stated earlier, it all depends on from region to region.

The two popular styles are the Texas style sauce and the signature red sauce of Kansas City. In Texas, the chefs love to spice it up by putting the sauce on the sides of the meat. It is usually served hot. This sauce is dry rubbed and slowly cooked. Whereas, in Texas, the signature red sauce is mixed with the little of sugar and molasses. It overall gives an amalgamation of sweet and sour taste. Perhaps, there is a dichotomy between the two recipes. Apart from these, the basic sauces used are mustard and vinegar in North Carolina and South Carolina. Therefore, we can’t deduce that the similar style of cooking is followed everywhere. There is a change in the ingredients depending on the region.

Do you think knowing about the sauces will be enough let us enlighten us about the types of wood that were used and that are used nowadays? Originally, logs of dried wood were used to grill the meat, but now, gas and charcoal are used by most of the smokers to produce heat. People who use these different methods get variations in their flavors too by using different flavored pucks in the electric smoker reviews. Perhaps, there is aroma developed by using wood chips, which is like a cherry on the cake! However, wood chips aren’t the only option; some people also use tea leaves. Now, you could go out of your way and follow the South Carolina style and play with those sauces to make a new base, get a little adventurous because this beautiful style needs pure devotion!
